Regulating your emotions is the first step towards living life in the intended way: ofering nothing genuine of yourself, projecting a carefully curated image of how you'd like to be percieved, and treating every interaction like a transaction where the things you say are less a means of expression ad more a currency used to get a person to do what you want them to do (i.e. giving you something or leaving you alone but in a way where they still like you so you can use them again later if you need something).
